چکیده

This modification was developed in1981 by Cadaveric Tests prior to clinical application in patients, and this was primarily devised anatomically to decrease dislocations of the Hip Joint. Here the bone over the greater trochanter was osteotoimised at it posterior overhanging part to provide for access to the Hip Joint, which was resutured using 2 stainless steel wires In order to reconstitute the hip Joint.

Posterior Hip Fracture -Dislocation Associated with Ipsilateral Intertrochantric Fracture; a Rare Case Report

Hip dislocation occurs when the femur does not break and the force is transmitted towards the hip joint leading to a posterior dislocation of the femoral head with or without posterior acetabular fracture. We present the case of a 26 year old patient involved in motor vehicle accident. Clinical and imaging (radiography, CT) examination revealed an intertrochanteric fracture associated with ipsi...

Technical Note on Modified Posterior Approach to the Hip Joint

INTRODUCTION The posterior approach is the most commonly and relatively easy to be used to expose the hip joint. Posterior approaches allow excellent visualization of the entire acetabulum and the upper femoral shaft, and thus they are popular for revision joint replacement surgery particularly in cases where only the femoral component needs to be replaced. There may be a higher dislocation rat...

Migration of a Broken Steinman Pin into the Posterior Compartment of the Leg 12 Years after Total Hip Arthroplasty

This report is on a migration of a Steinman pin into the posterior com Department of the calf. It was used to fix a greater trochanteric osteotomy in a total hip arthroplasty. The puzzling note is how this metal piece passed through the anterolateral compartment of the thigh to the posterior compartment of the calf. Accord ing to our literature review, migration of fixation pins through the kne...

Treatment of femoral neck fractures with bipolar hemiarthroplasty using a modified minimally invasive posterior approach in patients with neurological disorders.

Bipolar hemiarthroplasty is a useful treatment for displaced femoral neck fractures in elderly patients. Although uncommon, dislocation is problematic, particularly in older patients, and those with neurologic disorders are at an increased risk for this complication. Recently, a modified posterior approach to the hip intended to enhance hip joint stability by preserving the short external rotat...

Primary hip arthroplasty through a limited posterior trochanteric osteotomy.

This study evaluates primary hip replacement performed using a modified posterior approach through a limited posterior trochanteric osteotomy bone block that includes the insertions of the posterior capsule and short external rotators--as this may enhance secure reattachment of the posterior soft-tissue envelope and protect against postoperative instability. Sixty-eight consecutive primary hip ...
